Married to Patricia (Pat) since February 1969. We have 2 sons, Shawn , Joshua. Shawn and his wife Krissy has given us 2 granddaughters, Teddi and Jayme, and our first grandson, Eden came to us at the end of September.
I served in the U.S. Army from Aug 1964 to Nov 1969. I served in both Germany and Viet Nam as a Still Photographer, and later as an Photo Instructor at the Army signal school at Ft Monmouth N.J. where I met Pat.
Salvation experience: During the summer of 1975 while attending Lakeshore Baptist Church, Shreveport, La. I began to question my conversion experience as a 9 year old. After counseling with my
pastor, and much prayer I gave my heart and life to the Lord Jesus, and was baptized into the Body of Christ.
Calling to the ministry:
Within a year of my conversion I began to sense the Lord was drawing me into the preaching and teaching ministry. Again, after much prayer and pastoral counseling I gave my life over to preparing for the ministry. I was licensed to preach the gospel at Lakeshore Baptist Church.
Preparing for the Ministry:
In August of 1976 I entered Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary, Memphis, Tn.
While at MABTS I became active in the street preaching ministry and was privileged to have been used of the Lord in soul winning and evangelism. My education is continuing still as I get more into the word and make practical the command of Paul to Timothy, “Study to show thy self approved of God, a workman not ashamed.”
Ministerial experience:
I was ordained at Lakeshore Baptist Church after being called as pastor of New Hope Church of Vardaman, Ms. We left New Hope to pursue additional education at Shreveport Baptist College; While there we were used as interim and pulpit supply at several local churches. I later became staff Evangelist at Laurel Heights Baptist Church, Shreveport, La. where God used us in revivals and conferences. I have served as Associate pastor at Bethesda Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church Port Richey, where I taught an Adult Bible class and served as their webmaster. My passion is the preaching and teaching of the whole council of the word of God.
